Job Position: 3D Animator
We are looking for a 3D Animator who is well-versed in rigging, skin-weighting, and animations with industry-standard practices. You will be creating compelling, detail-oriented realistic animations for characters, creatures, props, etc. Basic knowledge of modeling, texturing, and lighting is required. You should also be willing to learn other parts of the 3D art pipeline. You need to be flexible to iterate and improve your work based on review feedback.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with 3D artists, and directors and working with concepts or video references regarding the requirements of the projects.
- Animate a variety of character types, creatures, and environmental objects using a blend of keyframe and motion-capture data.
- Producing high-quality character animations while meeting deadlines.
- Rigging characters and creating benchmark animations with a good sense of physics and realistic movements.
- Adapt to technical and engine requirements.
- Collaborate with programmers and tech artists to implement animations in the game engine and iterate as needed.
- Transforming storyboards into animated sequences.
- Adapting to software upgrades and staying up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
- Managing files, and asset libraries, and creating documentation.
Skills:
- Your portfolio of past personal and/or professional projects.
- Solid foundational animation skills.
- Strong in fundamentals of Rigging and Skinning.
- Proficiency with Unity and Blender
- Experience in creating animations from motion capture data.
- Practical knowledge of technical constraints and optimizations required in the game engine.
- Should be comfortable giving and receiving feedback and iterating accordingly.
- A keen eye for different animation styles and interest in developing a best-in-class animation style.
- Prior experience and understanding of animations within Unity or other game engines is a plus.
- Knowledge of film and animation genres and the ability to create within their styles is valuable.
- A good understanding of human and creature anatomy.
- Ability to adapt to timelines and deliver outcomes accordingly.
